Job description

About the role

Our full time sales associate role is not your typical retail job — you'll be an important member of our small team, responsible for everything that happens in the shop daily from open to close: from inventory processing, to spreadsheets and expenses, to shipping online orders, to visual merchandising and of course working on the sales floor.

Responsibilities
  • Being an all-star salesperson and conveying a natural ease and authenticity while engaging with customers.
  • Demonstrate an authentically friendly yet elevated level of sales and service through communication, product knowledge, body language & morale.
  • Maintain the welcoming, inviting feel of our brand by greeting and thanking every customer.
  • Conduct sales transactions on POS, accurately ringing up items and packing with care and attention.
  • Receiving new inventory and managing existing inventory.
  • Providing and assisting with customer service as needed via in‑person interactions, phone and email, while offering expert product knowledge.
  • Monitoring e‑comm sales, carefully packing items and shipping out online orders.
  • Shop upkeep, visual merchandising, organising stock in back of house.
  • Maintaining the storefront (cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, etc).
  • Working closely with owner and the rest of the team to streamline the business and grow sales.

....and much more! This is a role that requires a genuine love of retail, people and customer service and supporting the needs of the shop and our team as they arise.

What we're looking for
  • You prefer to work for independent/small businesses and on a small team.
  • You're passionate about aesthetics, particularly home decor and design.
  • You are outgoing with exceptional people skills and have a warm, genuine and friendly personality (you're either an extrovert, or an introvert who can put on a good show of being an extrovert while you're at work).
  • You're visually inclined with an eye for style and detail.
  • You hold yourself and your work to an extremely high standard.
  • You have a versatile skill set and enjoy being busy while having a wide array of responsibilities.
  • You can maintain a level head and think on your feet during moments of chaos and are good at multitasking while maintaining an extreme attention to detail.
  • You know how to keep things light and fun while simultaneously working hard and taking your work seriously.

Candidates will be considered for either one of our Williamsburg locations (99 Grand Street and/or 319 Graham Ave);
