Job description

Job Description

The position of Retail Sales Representative is responsible for demonstrating Sika products to multiple end-user segments within a defined multi-store territory through The Home Depot and Lowe's. End-user segments include the DIY homeowner and professionals. The role involves developing productive relationships with key personnel at these stores, including Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, and Department Heads. The representative will execute all corporate marketing and training programs at the store level and be recognized as an industry and product expert.

Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Perform sales activities in a designated territory to increase market share and drive top-line sales performance.
  2. Recommend sales forecasts, discount targets, and monitor expenditures, initiating corrective actions to meet sales and profit goals.
  3. Collaborate with management to develop and implement sales growth plans.
  4. Assist DIY customers with projects, recommend and sell Sika products, and cross-merchandise related items throughout the store.
  5. Work with THD Pro Sales Managers on shared leads to generate additional sales opportunities and engage with professional customers during sales calls, presenting product features and benefits.
  6. Maintain sales aids, bay displays, and Point of Purchase (POP) materials.
  7. Identify opportunities to create impactful product displays through wing stacks, bulk stacks, end caps, and stack outs.
  8. Plan and participate in store-specific events, inviting key customers, promoting additional products, and following up on sales leads.
  9. Train associates and consumers through product demonstrations during sales calls.
  10. Conduct weekend and after-hours training events, and participate in major market training and roadshow events as scheduled.
  11. Ensure the replenishment system supplies sufficient stock to support sales rates.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in merchandising, retail operations, or the contractor segment is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive.
  • Strong computer, time management, and prioritization skills, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence diverse personality types.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Availability to work seasonal hours, including Saturdays during peak season (April-October).
  • Willingness to travel outside the local territory as needed.
