The Salvation Army Thrift Store in New Haven, IN is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate (PT) to join our team. This role requires providing great customer service, keeping the store organized, and helping create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

The position offers part-time hours (about 25 per week), evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with paid training and opportunities to build retail and customer service skills.

Pay: $13.50 per hour Job Type: Part-time, Regular Schedule: 25 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

What You’ll Do

• Help open, close, and balance the register as assigned

• Help sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor


• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized


• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals


• Include processing, pricing, and receiving donations.

What You Need

Required

• Ability to provide friendly customer service


• Reliable attendance and punctuality


• Basic communication and teamwork skills


• Basic math and computer skills


• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed


• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift


• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move merchandise throughout the day


• High school diploma or currently pursuing


• Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive on behalf of The Salvation Army

Preferred

• Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or thrift store experience


• Experience using a point of sale system
