Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve as the primary customer contact, stock shelves, and assist with merchandising initiatives across the sales floor. You will help load/unload shipments, maintain plan-o-grams, operate the cash register, and ensure a clean, welcoming store environment.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, locating items, and processing transactions while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks as part of daily store operations.
• Receive, open, unpack cartons, and stock merchandise on shelves or move to sales floor.
• Build and maintain merchandise displays.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise as needed.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to total purchases and bag items.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Keep store front, sidewalks, and stockroom clean and organized.
