Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary contact for customers and help maintain plan-o-grams and merchandising. You will stock shelves, build displays, and assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.

You will greet customers, operate the cash register, bag purchases, and collect payments while ensuring a clean, orderly store and teamwork with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Build and stock displays; rotate stock on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and face shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Greet customers, operate the cash register, and bag purchases.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners when needed.
• Help set up sidewalk displays and keep store clean.
