Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the primary contact for customers, assist in maintaining plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and support profitability and teamwork while protecting company assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, building displays, assisting customers, and operating the register to complete transactions with accurate cash handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons; store or stock floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays.
• Stock shelves and face merchandise.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating products.
• Maintain store cleanliness and collect trash.
• Greet customers and comply with store policies.
• Operate cash register and bag purchases; collect payments.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Prepare front-end area and sidewalk displays as needed.
