Job description

We are currently looking for the right Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our Team!

Hourly wage: $11.00 to $14.00 per hour. Earn up to 8% commission on transactions, which could average an additional $1.49 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions, and assists with customer inquiries and problem resolution. The role involves a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

The position offers an hourly wage and commission based on productivity. Actual pay depends on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Makes the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise displays.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items following company policies.
• Answers incoming calls according to company standards.
• Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions.
• Communicates with coworkers and managers with respect and effective tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive customer experience.
• Successfully completes assigned training.
• Completes any related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting, as required).
• Ability to work with firearms and achieve firearms certification if required.
• Employees may be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic math calculation proficiency.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Willingness to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule (including weekends and holidays).
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2–8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed information will be provided during the interview process.
