Job summary

The Country Store in Colville, WA is seeking a part-time Sales Associate to greet customers, consult on merchandise, and process purchases at the POS. You will merchandise displays, stock shelves, assist loading, and participate in returns/exchanges with friendly, product-knowledgeable service.

Hours are 16-32 per week, evenings and weekends may be required. Wage is $17.25-$19.80 per hour. Medical insurance and Employee Assistance Program are offered to part-time staff meeting eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and consult customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise; select options suitable for customers.
• Answer questions about merchandise and assist with purchase decisions.
• Accurately complete sales using the POS system.
• Stock and rotate product; merchandise displays; assist with loading/unloading.
• Process returns and exchanges; maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Provide friendly service and communicate effectively with customers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet and consult customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
• Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for customers’ needs
• Answer customer questions about merchandise and assist with purchase decisions
• Accurately complete sales using the POS system according to established procedures
• Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale
• Stock and rotate product
• Assist in keeping the store clean
• Assemble and organize products and displays
• Assist customers with loading and unloading products as needed
• Process returns and exchanges
• Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales-generating skills
• Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes, and continuously develop skills
• Collaborate, communicate well, and effectively relay information with an emphasis on positive professional relationships
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, and kneel frequently

Preferred Qualifications

• Product knowledge preferred in one or more of: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies

Schedule

Part-time, onsite position based in Colville, WA; 16-32 hours per week (schedule may vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
