What we are looking for:

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Retail Representative, who shares our passion to provide quality products and excellent customer care experience to patients who need them and who support the JARS Cannabis core values and culture. The Retail Representative works closely and collaboratively with the store assistant leadership and reports to the General Manager.

A Retail Representative is responsible for providing our customers with exceptional service by meeting individual needs, exceeding expectations, and demonstrating excellent knowledge of the variety of cannabis products, deals & promotions we offer. This role includes mandatory training through our groundbreaking JARS University training, conducted both virtually and in-person at our mock-store training facility to ensure thorough education on policies, procedures, and culture.

Job Duties:
  1. Assess the needs of each customer, provide appropriate product knowledge, and conduct transactions accurately and efficiently.
  2. Use suggestive selling strategies and be willing to upsell all customers.
  3. Take constructive criticism and be coached by upper management.
  4. Assist with inventory tasks when needed.
  5. Work scheduled shifts following the company's attendance policy.
  6. Follow all safety and CRA rules policies.
  7. Promote the perks of being a JARS customer (Loyalty Program, Referrals, etc.).
  8. Record transactions accurately in the POS system, ensuring the accuracy of cash drawers.
  9. Perform opening and closing duties as needed.
  10. Escalate customer issues to upper management when appropriate.
  11. Maintain a positive, caring attitude and treat both customers and coworkers with respect.
  12. Maintain neatness, cleanliness, and organization of the sales floor.
  13. Fill in when short-staffed and be willing to be cross-trained.
  14. Follow and integrate JARS company policies and procedures in daily interactions.
  15. Respond appropriately and timely to customer and coworker needs/requests.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in retail, sales, or hospitality.
  • Knowledge of cannabis strains and applications preferred.
  • Experience in the cannabis or health industry highly desirable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to move up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Availability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and events.
