Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.

U.S. Only: This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. Requires Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be required, along with restrictions on performing in a real estate agent capacity.

  • Takes a lead in proactively engaging with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  • Engages customers to complete needs assessments, identify financial solutions, and recommend tailored solutions addressing sales and service needs.
  • Offers advice on digital and self-serve options to make banking easy, simple, and fast.
  • Supports customer transactions based on traffic.
  • Builds new relationships within the community through outreach and appointments.
  • Addresses questions and resolves issues to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Applies risk management to protect the Bank's assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  • Makes credit recommendations in line with sound principles and policies.
  • Acts as a key member of the branch and market team.
  • Probes to understand customer needs and integrates marketing promotions into conversations.
  • Organizes work information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Finds creative approaches to make each customer’s experience personal.
  • Contributes to improving the overall branch customer experience.
  • Supports business results and overall branch experience.
  • May work at multiple branches; schedule may vary.
  • Follows risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and privacy.
  • Keeps current with marketplace, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of products, practices, and trends.
  • Identifies suspicious activity related to money laundering.
  • Ensures legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Completes complex tasks and handles escalations.
  • Analyzes issues and determines next steps.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Canada: Registration to sell investment products completed if applicable.
  • Lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products.
  • Financial services experience is an asset.
  • Proficient with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales with a focus on personal experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to listen, solve problems, and respond creatively.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization, collaboration, and analytical skills - Good.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $63,700.00

Pay Type: Salaried

Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include commissions. The total compensation may include incentives, bonuses, and benefits such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans.
