Join to apply for the Retail Relationship Banker role at BMO U.S.

Part-time 25 hours per week.

Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.

U.S. Only: This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. This requires Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. The Bank will provide instructions for registration. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be required, along with restrictions on performing as a real estate agent.

  1. Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  2. Engage customers to complete needs assessments, identify financial solutions, and recommend tailored solutions including banking, investments, lending, and small business solutions.
  3. Advise clients on digital and self-serve banking options to enhance convenience.
  4. Support customer transactions based on traffic and needs.
  5. Build new relationships through community outreach and appointment setting.
  6. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements during credit audits and quality checks.
  7. Apply risk management principles to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  8. Make credit recommendations for personal and home financing loans.
  9. Collaborate effectively within the branch and market team.
  10. Understand customer needs and integrate marketing promotions into conversations.
  11. Maintain accurate and complete work records.
  12. Innovate to personalize customer experiences and improve branch service.
  13. Contribute to business results and customer satisfaction.
  14. Work across multiple branches as needed, with flexible scheduling.
  15. Follow risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and privacy.
  16. Stay informed on market trends, legal requirements, and product knowledge.
  17. Report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
  18. Adhere to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  19. Handle complex tasks and escalate issues when necessary.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. 2-3 years of relevant experience and a related post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Registration to sell investment products (for Canada).
  3. Lending qualifications and designations.
  4. Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
  5. Experience with retail investments and lending products.
  6. Experience in financial services and digital tools.
  7. Customer service or sales experience with a personal approach.
  8. Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  9. Organizational and teamwork skills.
  10. Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

Salary: $45,900.00 - $73,700.00
