Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  2. Engage customers to complete needs assessments, identify financial solutions, and recommend tailored solutions across banking channels.
  3. Advise clients on digital and self-serve options to facilitate easy and fast banking.
  4. Support customer transactions based on traffic and needs.
  5. Grow BMO’s business by reaching out, generating appointments, and building community relationships.
  6. Ensure accurate data entry and compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies during credit audits and quality checks.
  7. Apply risk management frameworks to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  8. Make credit recommendations for personal loans, including home financing, adhering to sound credit principles.
  9. Collaborate effectively as part of a branch and market team.
  10. Understand customer banking and credit card needs, integrating marketing and promotional programs.
  11. Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  12. Find creative approaches to enhance customer experience.
  13. Contribute to overall branch customer experience and business results.
  14. Work across multiple branches as needed, with flexible schedules.
  15. Follow risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and customer privacy.
  16. Stay informed about the financial marketplace, legal, and regulatory environment.
  17. Maintain knowledge of banking products, practices, and trends.
  18. Report suspicious activity related to money laundering.
  19. Complete tasks within rules/limits, including handling escalations.
  20. Analyze issues and determine next steps.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • For Canada: Investment product sales registration completed.
  • Lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products.
  • Experience in financial services and familiarity with digital tools.
  • Customer service or sales experience with a personal touch.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $67,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried, with potential bonuses and benefits as detailed on the company website.
