Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying customer needs and providing advice on financial solutions that benefit customers. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to enhance customer experience and meet business goals.

Note for U.S. Applicants: This role involves originating consumer loans as per Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act, requiring Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System. A background check and credit review are mandatory, along with restrictions on real estate agent activities.

  1. Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects, providing needs assessments to foster loyalty and identify opportunities.
  2. Conduct needs assessments to recommend tailored financial solutions, including banking, investments, lending, and small business solutions.
  3. Advise customers on digital and self-serve banking options to streamline their banking experience.
  4. Support customer transactions based on traffic and demand.
  5. Expand BMO’s business by reaching out, setting appointments, and building community relationships.
  6. Ensure compliance by addressing questions and resolving issues related to credit audits and lending applications.
  7. Apply risk management principles to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
  8. Make credit recommendations for personal and home financing based on sound principles and bank policies.
  9. Work collaboratively within the branch and market teams.
  10. Understand customer needs and incorporate marketing promotions into discussions.
  11. Maintain organized and accurate work records.
  12. Innovate to personalize customer experiences and improve branch service quality.
  13. Contribute to business results and customer satisfaction.
  14. Flexibility to work at multiple branches and varying schedules as needed.
  15. Follow risk and compliance policies to safeguard customer assets and privacy.
  16. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and product knowledge.
  17. Report suspicious activities related to money laundering.
  18. Adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
  19. Handle complex tasks and escalations effectively.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary education preferred or equivalent experience.
  • For Canada: Completion of registration to sell investment products.
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales with a focus on personal experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $67,000.00
