Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects to assess needs, grow loyalty, and identify opportunities.
  2. Conduct needs assessments to recommend tailored financial solutions, including retail investments, lending solutions, and small business solutions.
  3. Advise clients on digital and self-serve banking options to enhance customer experience.
  4. Support customer transactions and address questions to ensure service quality.
  5. Expand BMO’s business by generating appointments and building community relationships.
  6. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies, including risk management frameworks.
  7. Make credit recommendations for personal lending, including home financing, following sound credit principles.
  8. Collaborate as part of a versatile branch and market team.
  9. Understand customer needs related to banking and credit cards, and incorporate marketing promotions into conversations.
  10. Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  11. Innovate to personalize customer experiences and contribute to branch improvements.
  12. Follow risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and maintain privacy.
  13. Stay informed on financial services marketplace, legal environment, and industry trends.
  14. Report suspicious activities related to money laundering.
  15. Complete tasks within regulatory and ethical standards, including handling escalations.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Canada: Completion of registration to sell investment products.
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products is an asset.
  • Comfortable with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales, with a focus on personal customer experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $67,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried
