Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying customer needs and providing advice on financial solutions that benefit customers. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to enhance the customer experience and meet business objectives.

U.S. Only: This role involves originating consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry is required. The bank will guide you on registration requirements. A background check and credit review are also mandatory, along with restrictions on acting as a real estate agent.

  1. Proactively engage with existing and potential customers through needs assessments to foster loyalty and uncover opportunities.
  2. Assist customers in completing assessments to identify suitable financial solutions and preferred banking channels, including retail investments, lending, home financing, and small business solutions.
  3. Advise clients on digital and self-serve banking options to simplify their banking experience.
  4. Support customer transactions based on branch traffic.
  5. Expand BMO’s business by reaching out, setting appointments, and building community relationships.
  6. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements during credit audits and quality checks, and provide accurate data entry and lending recommendations.
  7. Apply risk management principles to safeguard assets and maintain portfolio quality according to policies and guidelines.
  8. Make credit recommendations for personal and home financing loans, adhering to sound credit principles and bank policies.
  9. Participate as a collaborative team member within the branch and market.
  10. Understand customer needs for banking and credit cards, and incorporate marketing promotions into conversations.
  11. Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  12. Innovate to personalize customer experiences and contribute to overall branch improvements.
  13. Contribute to achieving business results and enhancing customer service.
  14. Work at multiple branches as needed; schedule may vary weekly.
  15. Follow risk and compliance policies to protect customer assets and privacy.
  16. Stay informed about industry trends, legal and regulatory changes, and uphold ethical standards.
  17. Maintain knowledge of banking products and integrate this into customer interactions.
  18. Identify and report suspicious activities related to money laundering.
  19. Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  20. Handle complex tasks and escalations within established rules.
  21. Analyze issues and determine appropriate actions.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary education desirable or equivalent experience.
  • For Canada: Completion of investment product sales registration.
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products.
  • Financial services experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales with a focus on personal experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $67,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried

Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications, and may include commissions. Part-time salaries are prorated. The listed salary is a target for the first year, with total compensation potentially including incentives, bonuses, and benefits such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans.
