Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a retail associate to support donation processing and merchandise placement in a fast-paced store environment. You will help maintain store appearance, assist customers, and work with team members to maximize efficiency and satisfaction.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, a positive attitude, and reliability, with weekend/evening availability as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred; will consider a combination of education and work experience.
No previous experience required.
Associate is not required to drive as part of job duties.
Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Inspects donations and determines marketability per Retail Operations Manual.
Sorts raw material and categorizes for store use, salvage, or trash.
Tags donated items according to rotation system.
Hangs and places sorted goods on sales floor according to productivity standards.
Produces the required quantity of items daily per minimum standards.
Adheres to uniform dress code standards per Retail Operations Manual.
Maintains a positive, enthusiastic attitude and works as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
Cross-trains in multiple production and customer service positions.
Follows Assets Protection control and compliance procedures.
Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management.
Adheres to work schedule.
Handles physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds.
