Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Retail Associate to sort and process donations, stock shelves, and operate the cash register when the manager is unavailable. You will ensure merchandise is neatly displayed and accurately priced, while providing friendly customer service in a fast-paced store.

Strong attention to detail and good communication are essential. Prior retail or cash handling experience is a plus, with a commitment to the organization's mission and standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; retail and/or cash register experience preferred, but not required.
• Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
• Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Stock shelves and clothing racks; keep items organized to promote sales.
• Assist management to price items as needed.
• Process merchandise efficiently following established standards.
• Stock racks, shelves, counters with merchandise daily to promote sales.
• Learn and train on the processing system including cash register.
• Maintain a clean store environment including shelves, counters and tables.
• Help setup displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
• Wrap and bag merchandise for customers.
• Provide courteous customer service aligned with The Salvation Army mission.
• Other duties as assigned.
