Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a store associate to assist customers with purchases and donations while operating a cash register and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor. You will respond to questions, provide receipts, and help with donation drop-offs and loading items as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, strong English communication, and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift items. Previous retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with retail experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Strong communication in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to perform cash handling duties including counting change and receipts.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting and assisting customers with donations.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers by purchasing and donating items, ringing up sales and handling receipts.
• Maintain neat and secure cash register area and balance drawer.
• Answer questions about store policies and pricing, direct customers to donation drop-off areas.
• Assist with loading/unloading donations and providing tax receipts as needed.
