Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a part-time Retail Pharmacy Technician to cover weekends and vacations, operating under the Ohio Administrative Code with direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

You will assist with medication retrieval, preparation, distribution, claims processing, and enrollment in Meds2Beds while maintaining inventory and ensuring accurate documentation for patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Licensure/Certification: CPT or PTCB certification and state board registration (required)
• Experience: Six months of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42
• Maintains registration throughout the course of employment

Position Purpose

Retail Pharmacy Technician, within the scope of the Ohio Administrative Code, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient-centric pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

What You Will Do

• Will assist Pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for patient administration which includes:

• Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications
• Maintain inventory, medication replenishments, and drug stock

• Documents the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement in accordance with department policy.
• Enter information into and retrieving information from an electronic health record or prescription processing computer system.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Licensure / Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
