The General Hospital Corporation in Revere, MA is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Revere Health Center. Under the direction of a staff pharmacist, you will perform routine support tasks, assist with prescriptions, calculations, labeling and storage, and help ensure safe, efficient delivery of medications and healthcare products.

This onsite role requires a High School diploma, state license and PTCB certification, 0–1 year of experience, and a 40-hour week with rotating shifts,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy Technician license (state) required.
  • PTCB certification required.
  • Pharmacy Technician experience 0–1 year required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow policies and procedures to support pharmacy operations.
  • Handle prescription information, calculations, labeling, and storage per regulations.
  • Support safe, efficient delivery of medications and healthcare products.
  • Use area-specific technology including robotics and software.
  • Communicate with patients and caregivers to gather information and triage inquiries.
  • Audit medication storage areas and comply with policies.

Job Summary

Certified Pharmacy Technician for Revere Health Center

Schedule

Monday through Thursday 9-5:30, Fri 8:30-5, and every other Saturday 8:30am-12pm.

Essential Functions (Key Roles & Responsibilities)
  • Under the direction of a staff pharmacist and/or pharmacy leadership team, follow established policies and procedures to perform a variety of routine support tasks that are integral to the operation of the pharmacy department
  • Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices
  • Responsible for supporting the operations of the pharmacy and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications and healthcare products
  • Utilizes area-specific technology, including, but not limited to, robotics, automation, software, equipment, and information systems
  • Demonstrates professionalism and effectively communicates with patients and caregivers to gather information and or triage inquiries.
  • Audit medication storage areas utilizing data collection tools (if applicable)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Pharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT] - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow verbal and written instructions, including department policies and procedures
  • Understand HIPAA privacy rules and will use discretion handling patient related information
  • Ability to adhere to safety requirements for handling non-hazardous and hazardous medications in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements
  • Proficient with math calculations associated with ass signed responsibilities
  • Ability to distinguish routine functions from those requiring a pharmacist's professional judgment
  • Ability to work with sustained attention and care on routine, repetitive tasks
