Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a per diem, dayshift role (Mon-Fri, 9am–5pm). You will assist the pharmacist in daily operations, process prescriptions, manage inventory, and provide customer service in the Retail area.

Required: state license/registration as a pharmacy technician (where applicable), HS diploma or equivalent, and completion of an ASHP-accredited program or equivalent. PTCB/NHA certification and 340B experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
• State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent program
• 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)
• PTCB or NHA certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire
• Or valid Pharmacy Intern Licenses required

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Assists the Pharmacist, under his or her supervision, in the daily operation of the Pharmacy.

For Retail areas, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. The role involves handling day-to-day tasks such as processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service. This entry-level position serves as a stepping stone to more advanced pharmacy technician roles.

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $23.62.
