Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a per diem, dayshift role (Mon-Fri, 9am–5pm). You will assist the pharmacist in daily operations, process prescriptions, manage inventory, and provide customer service in the Retail area.

Required: state license/registration as a pharmacy technician (where applicable), HS diploma or equivalent, and completion of an ASHP-accredited program or equivalent. PTCB/NHA certification and 340B experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
• State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent program
• 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)
• PTCB or NHA certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire
• Or valid Pharmacy Intern Licenses required

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist, under supervision, in daily operation of the Pharmacy.
• For Retail areas, assists pharmacists in preparation and distribution of medications and handles day-to-day tasks such as processing prescriptions, inventory, and customer service.

Education

Pharmacy technician license/registration

High school diploma or equivalent

ASHP-accredited or equivalent training

340B program experience

Pharmacy intern licenses (if required)
