Job summary

Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO seeks a licensed Pharmacy Technician - Retail 1 to join our outpatient team. Under the supervision of a staff pharmacist, you will handle dispensing, POS transactions, and inventory management with a patient-centered approach.

Work Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM; no weekends or holidays. Prior retail pharmacy experience is a plus, and state Board of Pharmacy registration is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• State Board of Pharmacy Registration required.

Responsibilities

• Completes clerical duties including tubes, faxes, filing prescriptions and mail.
• Enters customer, insurance and prescription information and completes transfers.
• Sells prescriptions at POS, handles cash and reconciles payments.
• Orders and manages inventory; rotates and stocks shelves; performs cycle counts.
• Performs data entry, contacts manager, and handles dispensing with Parata and RxSafe.

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Retail 1, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, performs general clerical and support duties for the department. This position is also responsible for entering information into the pharmacy IT system, selling prescriptions, managing inventory and completing prescription workflow steps.

Responsibilities

• Completes clerical duties, to include sending and receiving tubes & faxes, filing prescriptions, processing mail & courier prescriptions.
• Enters customer, insurance and prescription information and completes prescription transfers.
• Sells prescriptions (POS system), handles cash, manages payment exceptions and reconciles cash.
• Orders and manages inventory (drug and non-drug); stocks shelves; rotates, organizes, and removes expired product; performs cycle counts and returns to stock.
• Completes data entry, contact manager, product dispensing (manual and automated via Parata and RxSafe), and basic compounding.
