Job summary

WellStar Health System in Georgia seeks a Retail Pharmacist to plan, supervise, and improve pharmaceutical and financial activities in the hospital pharmacy. You will ensure compliance with OBRA90, federal/state rules, and WellStar policies while supervising Pharmacy Technicians.

Key duties include preparing medications, checking prescriptions for dosages and interactions, managing inventory, counseling patients, processing insurance forms, and maintaining a secure, accurate pharmacy operation

Qualifications

• BS degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Reg Pharmacist license.
• Experience in retail pharmacy operations preferred.
• Knowledgeable of computerized retail pharmacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or supervises the preparation of liquid medicines, ointments, powders, tablets and other medications.
• Checks prescriptions for correct dosage and for drug interactions and incompatibilities.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and their daily duties.
• Maintains inventory and stores vaccines and other drugs.
• Provides medication counseling to customers and interprets prescriptions.
• Completes third-party insurance forms and other paperwork.
