GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Personal Banker I position will provide an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff. The banker will help customers understand and address their financial needs, offering solutions throughout their financial lifecycle using our consultative sales and service process.

The role is responsible and accountable for risk management by openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. It emphasizes doing the right thing for customers and colleagues to ensure a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, the role involves consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships within an assigned book of business through proactive outreach in person, over the phone, or via other channels.
2. Use a consultative approach to uncover customer needs and tailor recommendations and solutions accordingly.
3. Maintain knowledge of products, services, and processes offered.
4. Collaborate with internal partners to meet customer needs and resolve issues.
5. Analyze customer credit data and financial information to ensure suitable solutions.
6. Support customers in understanding and adopting current and new technology.
7. Process teller transactions while adhering to balancing guidelines.
8. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other policies, modeling ethical behavior.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma/GED and 6 months of customer service experience, or a college degree or equivalent military experience.
• Ability to develop comfort with both new customer acquisition and deepening existing relationships.
• Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in communication.
• Exhibits business acumen.
• Ability to make sound decisions.
• Must register with NMLS at employment start for SAFE Act compliance.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
