Job summary

Dollar Tree in Sacramento is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and leadership abilities, with the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; reading and following directives required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drugstore environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe environment with professional customer interactions.
• Keep store clean and organized; manage bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
