Nouria Energy Corporation is a multi-generational family-owned wholesale fuel distributor, convenience store operator, and car wash operator in New England. Our wholesale and retail fuel businesses are multi-branded, including Shell, Mobil, Irving, Sunoco, Gulf, Valero, Citgo, Phillips 66, Exxon, and unbranded brands. We supply fuel to over 300 locations across New England and New York. We are among the top 50 largest convenience store chains and top 10 largest car wash chains in the country.

Open availability is preferred. Must be able to work on weekends. Must be 18 years or older.

General Summary

The management trainee's primary responsibility is to participate in training, learn new skills, and demonstrate proficiency in managerial responsibilities. The program prepares the trainee for decisions and actions in people, operations, and merchandising management when assuming the store manager role. The MIT assists the Store Manager in daily shift management.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist Store Manager in daily shift management, including customer relations, inventory control, paperwork, and visual merchandising.
  • Maintain individual and shift sales.
  • Provide daily shift coverage.
  • Train Sales Associates.
  • Supervise POS and security & loss prevention.
  • Maintain performance metrics and stock shelves.
  • Assist in minimizing cash and inventory loss, ensuring compliance with laws.
  • Shadow manager in daily operations.
Customer Service
  • Provide excellent customer experience.
  • Greet customers warmly, suggest purchases, promote specials.
  • Execute Nouria’s customer service program.
Safety & Station Appearance
  • Minimize safety risks; train employees on safety policies.
  • Enforce environmental and hazardous material regulations.
  • Maintain store safety and security, document incidents.
  • Manage store environment and operate equipment safely.
  • Support safety programs, report workplace incidents, and conduct safety inspections.
Qualifications
  • 1 year supervisory experience in retail, convenience, fast food, or restaurant operations.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, approachable.
  • Availability for nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs., stand for long periods, and access all store areas.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
Physical Requirements
  • Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and appearance.
  • Perform related duties; lift up to 30 lbs.; work at a desk and stand for extended periods.
