Position Summary

The Retail Operations Manager oversees the efficient operation of a Retail Store, Boutique, or Attended Donation Center (ADC). Responsibilities include leading the team to meet goals related to sales, production, customer service, payroll, safety, and expenses, in collaboration with the Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform manager on duty activities, including opening/closing, managing cash register operations, and training Ambassadors to meet goals following SOPs.
  2. Provide excellent service, engage with Ambassadors, customers, and donors, and promote our Mission and RISE Values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence).
  3. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  4. Train and coach Ambassadors on de-escalation and loss prevention procedures.
  5. Communicate concerns to the District Manager when necessary.
  6. Supervise staff including training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and addressing issues.
  7. Monitor store standards including safety, equipment, and cleanliness.
  8. Train and evaluate Ambassadors in processing donations, ecommerce items, and maintaining backroom procedures.
  9. Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and possibly at nearby locations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience in a customer-focused management role.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Outlook and electronic survey platforms.
  • Strong communication, training, and people skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and multitask effectively.
  • Punctual, dependable, and free from substance abuse.
  • Understanding of Goodwill’s mission and values.
  • Clear background and drug screening required.
