Job summary

PetSmart’s Process Lead (Retail Operations Lead) drives operational excellence in our stores, overseeing merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, and opening/closing responsibilities while upholding PetSmart’s vision and values.

This role requires strong leadership of sales associates, solid communication, and the ability to manage store standards, schedules, and customer experiences, including online order pickups and ship-from-store.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide sales associates in merchandise handling and training on product knowledge and presentation standards.
• Facilitates the associate experience and supports development: training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks.
• Leads and directs associates when acting as the Leader on Duty and addresses associate concerns.
• Execute merchandise strategies to optimize sales and manage product receiving, placement, displays, and promotions.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct audits, analyze sales trends, and coordinate stock replenishment and markdowns.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash transactions in compliance with policies.
• Maintain store standards and uphold policies, procedures, and code of ethics; assist with opening/closing duties.
• Ensure pet care standards, safety, and positive experiences for pet parents and online order pickups.
