Job summary

Massanutten Resort in McGaheysville, VA is seeking a Retail Operation Assistant Manager to lead staffing across multiple retail locations and support the Retail Operations Manager with product mix, pricing and inventory decisions. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of management experience in hospitality or retail, strong communication, and solid computer skills including POS systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in the hospitality or retail industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Previous guest service experience.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and POS knowledge.
• ServeSafe or similar food management certification within 30 days of hire.
• Valid driver license and approved driving record.
• Must be at least 21.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, and terminate staff members, including store supervisors and assistants.
• Prepare weekly schedule for all retail locations, including all levels of employees.
• Work in conjunction with Operations Manager & Merchandising Manager to ensure optimal product placement within each location, and within the department as a whole, accomplished by meeting with vendors, and attending regional and national tradeshows.
• Manage and maintain POS system software.
• Be able to perform all tasks required from Retail Associate to Store Supervisor positions, including Inventory Control and Consumable Products Specialist.
• Develop and implement training programs for Retail staff.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
