Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Retail Operations Book Keeper to support the daily financial operations of our grocery stores operating in the United States. This role will require strong financial discipline, daily cash handling accuracy, and close monitoring of store pricing and employee productivity. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently during U.S. night hours and producing detailed financial and operational reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Pricing and Margin Monitoring:
- Update and verify grocery store item prices daily based on cost fluctuations.
- Ensure that product margins are maintained as per company standards.
Identify and correct any cost-price imbalances immediately.
- Food and Labor Cost Management:
Prepare accurate weekly reports summarizing food costs and labor expenses. - Highlight any irregularities or spikes in costs to management for immediate action.
- Payroll Processing:
- Calculate and process employee payroll on a daily basis.
- Ensure that work hours, overtime, and deductions are recorded accurately.
- Cash and Money Reconciliation:
- Perform daily cash reconciliation to match physical cash with register reports.
- Monitor and report any cash discrepancies immediately.
- Maintain accurate financial records for audit purposes.
- Sales and Operations Reporting:
- Generate and submit daily reports, including:
- Total sales vs. total purchases report
- Daily customer count report
- Average sales per customer report
- Analyze reports to identify trends, gaps, or opportunities for improvement.
- CCTV Monitoring for Employee Productivity:
- Monitor store CCTV footage periodically to assess employee performance, productivity, and compliance with store policies.
- Flag any instances of misconduct, negligence, or inefficiency.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Collaborate with store managers and internal teams remotely to resolve financial and operational queries.
- Communicate any critical operational issues to management in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in bookkeeping, cashiering, or financial reporting (preferably for retail or grocery stores).
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, cash management, and reconciliation processes.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to work independently during U.S. night shifts (remote setup).
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with CCTV monitoring practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for reporting and coordination.
