Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is hiring at TJ Maxx in Middletown, NJ for a role supporting store management and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

You will engage with customers, help keep the store clean, and participate in the onboarding and training of new Associates. Candidates should have at least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
• Takes an active role in the hiring process (scheduling interviews, reference checks, etc.) and onboarding of new Associates
• Maintains Associate personnel files
• Performs daily cash office functions and maintains cash office standards
• Supports Operations Assistant Store Manager with scheduling, expense account monitoring, supply inventory and requisition
• Maintains proper Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience
• Supports and responds to coverage needs throughout the store
• Ensures store team executes tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
• Communicates updates to management and Associates on priorities
• Provides and accepts feedback
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
• Ensures adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Maintains cleanliness and recovery standards for the sales floor
• Promotes credit and loyalty programs
• Supports shrink reduction goals and programs
• Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
