Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to work with the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and delivering positive experiences for the communities we serve. You’ll focus on merchandising and processing freight while upholding company standards.

You will supervise daily store operations, assist with open/close tasks, protect assets, maintain stockrooms and floors, and ensure a safe, friendly environment for customers and teammates.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks described in the job duties.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including Frozen & Refrigerated, per productivity standards.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with saleable items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
