Overview

Retail Merchandising Specialist at BDS, a part‑time role offering weekly pay on a 20‑hour minimum schedule. The position is ideal for individuals who thrive on independent projects and enjoy working with leading consumer electronics brands. No prior retail experience required; comprehensive training is provided.

What You’ll Do

• Travel to assigned retail stores and conduct visits within your territory
• Audit, maintain, and install consumer electronics displays (TVs, tablets, headphones, speakers, printers, phones)
• Partner with team members on 2‑ to 3‑person projects such as appliance or TV installs
• Build and maintain positive in‑store relationships
• Complete assignments as directed by your BDS Manager
• Report tasks in real time using your personal mobile device
• Follow BDS standards and expectations, provided during onboarding
• Pickup or receive materials at home or FedEx to deliver to retail locations as requested
• Perform additional tasks as requested by management

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Previous merchandising, customer service, or retail experience preferred

Skills and Attributes

• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
• Proficiency using a personal smartphone or tablet with GPS, including photo upload and reporting
• Prerequisite basic toolkit ownership (reimbursed during probation)
• A basic toolkit includes a multi‑screwdriver, torx security bit set, hammer, cordless drill, allen wrench, box cutter, rubber mallet, socket set, needle‑nose pliers, precision wire cutters, crescent wrench, easy‑off, putty knife, microfiber cleaning cloth, and goo‑gone
• Ability to complete BDS online training courses before in‑store work starts
• Legal age of 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Availability & Logistics

• Flexible availability Monday‑Friday, early morning to midday, with occasional weekend hours
• Minimum 20 hours per week
• Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation for company travel
• Ability to travel within a 60‑mile radius of your market; BDS reimburses drive time and mileage between store locations

Physical Requirements

• Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, balancing, grasping, pushing, pulling, talking, and hearing
• Regular lifting and carrying of 40+ pounds
• Climbing a ladder greater than 10 feet
• Completion of moving‑equipment certification (online and in‑store) as required
• Occasional travel via flight or other modes of transportation
