Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering exceptional shopping experiences. You’ll focus on merchandising and processing freight to keep the sales floor energized.

You’ll train and coach associates, ensure safety and asset protection, and execute merchandise plans and daily operations with a customer‑first mindset. The role is full-time, on-site in Sunnyside, NY.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and sustain frequent movement.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
• Other duties as assigned*.
