Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Cleveland, OH to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and managing merchandising and freight. You will assist with store functions, open/close procedures, and maintain safety and cleanliness across the store.

Responsibilities include processing shipments, managing freight, stocking as needed, and ensuring the sales floor is optimized. This full-time role emphasizes customer experience and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform related physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards.
• Process corporate directives related to store activity.
• Maintain store cleanliness and neat presentation.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow and merchandise stocking per productivity standards.
• Stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective and merchandise layout is optimal.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
