Job summary

Montage International in Montana manages vibrant retail outlets within its luxury resort environment. The Retail Manager oversees daily operations, inventory, and staff, delivering exceptional guest service and financial performance.

You will recruit and train associates, set budgets, analyze variances, and ensure products are on floor and properly displayed. Flexibility for weekends/evenings is required to meet guest and business needs.

Qualifications

• Luxury hotel retail management experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and guest recovery skills.
• Willing to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise store associates to meet daily operations.
• Oversee inventory controls, re-orders, and budgeting.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train store staff.
• Coach and counsel associates to improve performance.
• Prepare annual budget and analyze variances.
• Identify customer service requirements by engaging with guests and staff.
• Ensure merchandise availability and manage contracts/inventories.
• Market merchandise through promotions and displays; review financial statements for profitability.
• Secure merchandise with appropriate security measures.
• Ensure retail operations meet hotel standards for guest experience.
• Place reorders in a timely fashion and keep back-stock organized.
• Ensure new products are displayed on the floor promptly.
• Work weekend/night/holiday shifts as business demands.

Please discuss with our hiring managers during our selection processes. **If you are an internal applicant, please log into Workday and apply for your application to be considered.****Please Click Here** **to apply internally.****Retail Manager*****SUMMARY***The Retail Manager is responsible for the management and operation of the Retail Outlets and the day to day functions that align with the department’s long term goals and objectives, provide excellent customer service, and actively contribute to the department requirements and standards.***ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS***Job duties include, although are not limited to:* Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning associates; following up on work results.* Responsible for management of inventory includes inventory controls, re-orders, and working within budget guidelines.* Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.* Maintain store results by coaching and counseling associates.* Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.* Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.* Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories.* Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyze operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.* Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.* Ensure that retail operations meets hotel standards for a memorable guest experience with a keen focus on a well trained staff able to perfect the basics.* Place any necessary reorders in a timely fashion and follow up on any pending orders.* Ensure all new products are on the floor in a timely manner and that back stock in clearly organized in the storage room.***QUALIFICATIONS**** High school or equivalent education required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.* One to two years’ experience in a luxury hotel preferred* Two to three years’ experience in retail management* Strong emphasis in customer service* Exceptional guest recovery skills* Must possess a positive attitude* Must be willing to participate in a learning environment* Must integrate company values throughout all interactions* Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands***PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS***Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
