Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking a Manager in Training in Pulaski, TN. This role supports the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, sales, merchandising, and customer service, with responsibilities across all departments.

The Manager in Training will learn store management duties, promote promotions, and foster an exceptional customer experience, eventually assuming Store Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
• Team-player with passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager in establishing action plans to accomplish departmental responsibilities and store goals.
• Step in and act as Store Manager in their absence.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure departments meet responsibilities and standards.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties and learn Store Manager responsibilities.
• Deliver exceptional service per the customer service manual, assist customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold all company policies and procedures as listed in manuals and memos.
• Protect assets and financial information by maintaining internal controls and flagging potential fraud.
