Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Wadesboro, NC is seeking a Manager in Training to support Store Manager duties and develop strong leadership skills in a retail environment. You will assist with merchandising, inventory control, and delivering outstanding customer service to acquire and retain customers.

The role requires retail experience, 1–3 years in customer service, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced setting. This is an hourly, non-exempt position based in-store.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear; merchandising, ordering, scheduling and action-planning.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Provide knowledge/guidance to employees and customers in all departments; monitor inventory, sales, and expenses.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met; communicate inventory movement and customer trends.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise; uphold company policies and protect assets and information.
