Job summary

ShopRite of Cherrywood Plaza in Clementon, NJ is seeking a Store Detective to protect assets and ensure a safe shopping environment. The role focuses on detecting theft through observation and CCTV, while delivering a great customer experience and supporting store security.

Candidates must read and communicate in English, stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied temperatures, and cooperate with team members.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English clearly.
• Stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Lift 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents during duties.
• Work in varying temperatures.
• Travel to store locations, if applicable.
• Interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Adhere to attendance policies and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Use Loss Prevention tools to identify and reduce loss.
• Detect and apprehend theft in a professional manner per policy.
• Represent the company in criminal actions after apprehensions.
• Participate in investigations when assigned.
• Suggest improvements to store management to reduce vulnerabilities.
• Understand departmental procedures to detect policy violations.
• Maintain security standards and communicate with staff.
• Observe customer behavior and report anomalies.
