Job summary

Citi Trends is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Detroit to support daily operations, lead team members, and collaborate with the Store Manager on performance and staffing. You will drive sales, maintain an exceptional customer experience, and help hire, onboard, and train store associates.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years in retail leadership, strong communication, and a proven ability to manage staffing and inventory with a focus on loss prevention and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3-5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer experience standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist the Store Manager with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training support.
• Help maintain staffing levels by supporting recruiting and retention.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to associates.
