Job summary

Heritage Cooperative in Caldwell, OH is seeking a full-time Retail Associate to provide exceptional customer service, support daily retail operations, and assist with inventory and merchandising. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior customer-facing experience.

You will serve customers, handle product questions, and support scheduling and administrative tasks while promoting Heritage Cooperative’s core values and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with opening/closing procedures and ensure accuracy.
• Support inventory, merchandising, and displays, and participate in counts.
• Handle customer inquiries, product questions, and service needs.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily operational questions and workflow coordination when the manager is unavailable.
  • Provide direction and support to team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to company standards.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring operational readiness and accuracy.
  • Monitor daily store activity and help prioritize workload to meet customer and business needs.
• Customer Experience
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting customers professionally and resolving routine concerns.
  • Support team members in handling customer inquiries, product questions, and service needs.
  • Escalate complex customer issues to the Retail Branch Manager as needed.
• Inventory & Merchandising
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor product levels and communicate inventory needs or discrepancies.
  • Support merchandising efforts, ensuring displays are clean, stocked, and aligned with promotional plans.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
• Administrative & Operational Support
  • Support daily paperwork, operational reporting, and documentation.
  • Helps retail management with branch scheduling
  • Assists in interviewing and provides recommendations for hiring decisions
  • Ensure accurate use of point-of-sale systems and customer record updates.
  • Help maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
• Safety & Compliance
  • Always promotes and model safe work practices.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards
  • Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers
• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to stand, sit, bend, walk, climb, stoop, kneel and move throughout retail locations for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
