Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend items, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and thank guests for choosing GameStop. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
  • Support the store’s shopping environment and visual/operational elements; nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system and maintain high-quality guest service.
  • Address guest questions in person or by phone, answering calls promptly and professionally to ensure top-tier service.
  • Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
  • Keep all areas of the store clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in good working order.
  • Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety protocols; assist with bank deposits as required.
  • Conduct store inventory counts, stock merchandise on shelves/fixtures, and move products from the stock room to the selling floor, ensuring products are represented and organized.
  • Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed accurately; maintain sufficient cash and change for transactions; make daily deposits as required.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies, record them in the POS system, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly; ensure boxes are labeled and include packing lists.
  • Assist with closing procedures, including verifying packages/belongings where appropriate, and supervise/delegate tasks in the absence of management.
  • Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures and provide timely feedback on associate performance to store management.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work alone and move around the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
  • Flexible schedule including extended hours; availability for nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days/week).
  • Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs from ground level to 4 feet.
  • Stand and move around the store for up to 10 hours per day.
