Job summary

Boscov's Department Store, LLC in New Jersey is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support retail operations in a busy HR office.

You will recruit, onboard, administer benefits and payroll, and ensure accurate recordkeeping while upholding company policies and government guidelines. The role requires 2–4 years of HR Generalist experience and strong communication skills.

Full-time hours with evenings/weekend flexibility and opportunities for growth in a long-standing national retailer.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of Human Resources Generalist experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (high school diploma or equivalent required).
• Ability to learn HR and store systems; confidentiality and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Available to work varied days and hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage the functions of the Human Resources Office
• Carry out policies related to phases of the Company and Human Resources
• Recruit, interview and select applicants to fill vacant positions
• Onboard new hires by completing all necessary paperwork and processes
• Maintain coworkers’ records in accordance with Company and government guidelines for reporting purposes
• Plan and conduct new coworker orientation and other types of training classes to foster positive attitudes and improve associate retention
• Responsible for promoting, initiating, and maintaining all facets of benefits, compensation, and performance appraisal review program
• Responsible for timekeeping and payroll procedures
• Handle all employee relations concerns with guidance from Corporate office
• Assume Senior Staff responsibilities
