Boscov’s Department Store, LLC is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support its busy HR office in Hazleton, PA. You will manage HR programs, onboard staff, and work independently in a retail setting serving a broad range of employees.

The role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to handle timekeeping, payroll procedures, and employee relations with guidance from the corporate office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of HR Generalist experience preferred.
• Creative problem solving and confidentiality skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to learn HR computer systems and other store systems.
• Available to work varied days and hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage the functions of the Human Resources Office.
• Carry out policies related to phases of the Company and Human Resources.
• Recruit, interview and select applicants to fill vacant positions.
• Onboard new hires by completing all necessary paperwork and processes.
• Maintain coworkers’ records in accordance with Company and government guidelines for reporting purposes.
• Plan and conduct new coworker orientation and other types of training classes to foster positive attitudes and improve associate retention.
• Promote, initiate, and maintain all facets of benefits, compensation, and performance appraisal review program.
• Timekeeping and payroll procedures.
• Handle all employee relations concerns with guidance from Corporate office.
• Assume Senior Staff responsibilities.
