Job summary

Story Cannabis is hiring a Retail General Manager to oversee daily store operations, inventory, cash handling, and customer service across our Ohio location. You will lead a team, manage financials, and ensure compliance with state guidelines while maintaining store cleanliness and organization.

The role requires 3+ years in cannabis retail management, strong knowledge of Dutchie and Metrc, and a commitment to a safe, compliant customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred.
• 3+ years of retail management experience in cannabis.
• Verifiable product knowledge of flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals, dosing instructions, extraction methods, and consumption.
• Strong POS and industry compliance tools, specifically Dutchie and Metrc.
• Must be over 21 years of age.
• Applicants must consent to a background check.
• Must have a valid State-Issued ID or U.S. Passport.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have no scheduling restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional, safe distribution processes in line with state/local guidelines.
• Ensure cannabis inventory is accurate and available for daily operations.
• Motivate team, solve problems quickly, and drive goal attainment.
• Handle cash and debit transactions accurately and balance the cash drawer.
• Review sales goals and KPIs to improve operations and finances.
• Unpack, count, label merchandise, including items needing special handling or refrigeration.
• Train budtenders, shift leads, and assistant managers.
• Receive store and inventory supplies.
• Provide exceptional customer service and go the extra mile.
• Perform other duties to meet department and company goals.

Overview

The Retail General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy retail store, which includes oversight of financials, physical inventory, storage of cannabis, leading a team of employees, and the overall cleanliness & organization of the store.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a distribution process that is professional and safe for all customers and in compliance with state and local guidelines.
• Ensure all stored cannabis is accounted for and the store has adequate amounts of cannabis for the daily operations.
• Motivate team members, solve problems quickly and effectively, and take intentional steps towards accomplishing goals.
• Quickly and precisely handle cash and debit transactions while always maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
• Review store sales goals and KPIs regularly to improve overall operations and financial performance.
• Unpack, sort, count and label merchandise, including items requiring special handling or refrigeration.
• Training and development of budtenders, shift leads, and assistant general managers
• Receive store and inventory supplies.
• Provide exceptional customer service - always going the extra mile.
• Perform other duties as required to successfully meet department and company goals and objectives.

• 3+ years of retail management experience within the cannabis industry.

• Strong point of sale and industry compliance tools, specifically Dutchie and Metrc.
• Must be over 21 years of age.

• Must be able to occasionally lift 50+ pounds.
