Story Cannabis is seeking an Assistant General Manager for its Ohio dispensary to lead a high-performing team, drive sales growth, and oversee inventory controls while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

This role emphasizes data-driven leadership, KPI tracking, staff training, and collaboration with marketing, operations, and supply chain to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of management experience in high-volume retail with cannabis experience preferred.
• Experience with point of sales systems and backend compliance tools (e.g., Dutchie, Metrc).
• Strong leadership, recruitment and staff training abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Analytical with ability to set and track store KPIs.
• Open availability with no scheduling conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement sales strategies to drive positive sales growth within the dispensary.
• Maintain inventory controls and ensure compliance standards.
• Coach, train, and develop staff to align with company goals.
• Partner with the General Manager to monitor KPIs and leverage data for decisions on labor, sales, and training.

Overview:

The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for developing a high-performing team that consistently delivers top-line sales growth. This person will lead and support the staff with customer service, sales training, product knowledge, leadership development, inventory controls, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the General Manager to plan and implement sales strategies to drive positive sales growth within the dispensary.
• Maintaining strong inventory controls and making sure that the store is upholding compliance standards.
• Coaching, training, and developing staff, making sure they are aligned with the company's goals and vision.
• Partnering with the General Manager to help create, monitor, and track the store's KPIs, and leveraging data to help drive decisions around labor costs, sales strategies, and training opportunities.
• Helping to hire, train and onboard new staff within the dispensary.
• Assisting with the store's day-to-day operations and partnering with other internal teams, such as marketing, retail operations, and supply chain.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of management experience in a high-volume retail environment with previous cannabis experience preferred.
• Experience with point of sales systems and backend compliance tools, such as Dutchie and Metrc.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to recruit and train staff.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to occasionally lift 50+ pounds.
• Must be able to either sit or stand for long periods of time.
