Job summary

Runnings in Jamestown, ND is seeking a Department Manager for our Farm, Pet and Auto departments. The Department Manager is responsible for merchandising and sales within the assigned department and for delivering the highest level of customer service. This role reports to the Store Manager and may require days, nights, and alternating weekends.

Hourly Pay Range: $14.00-$16.00 depending on experience. Extensive knowledge of farm, pet and automobile products is preferred and duties include

Qualifications

Customer service skills and knowledge of retail operations.
Experience with merchandising and inventory control preferred.
Ability to train and direct department staff and ensure safety standards.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of assigned department.
Assist customers with purchases.
Work closely with Retail Buyer to communicate department needs.
Assist with training and direction provided to new department team members.
Ensure safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
