Job description

Position Summary

The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This customer service-focused team member is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store’s business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services. The Store Consultant operates and maintains equipment, manages projects and supplies, and completes tasks based on priority.

General Duties and Responsibilities

People

  • Follow instructions of supervisors and assist team members in store functions.
  • Assist in training store team members.

Service

  • Demonstrate consultative behaviors to understand customer needs.
  • Provide expertise in printing, signs & graphics, and shipping, and recommend suitable products and services.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by anticipating needs and resolving issues promptly.
  • Handle complex orders and provide accurate pricing.
  • Assemble and prepare parcels for shipping.
  • Operate printing and related equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly store environment.

Profit

  • Handle customer data confidentially and manage documents and packages carefully.
  • Process transactions using POS, including cash handling.
  • Maintain and repair equipment and supplies.
  • Display products and signage properly.
  • Prevent errors and waste.
  • Complete financial paperwork and assist with reporting.
  • Follow operational policies and legal requirements.

Self-Management

  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Seek opportunities to improve skills.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to company standards and perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of specialized experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Essential Functions

  • Stand for entire shift, excluding breaks.
  • Lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Perform bending, twisting, and effective communication.
  • Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain attention and work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain regular attendance and support store hours.
