Job summary

Family Dollar in Hazardville, CT is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience. You will assist customers, manage transactions at the register, keep shelves stocked, and ensure a clean, safe store environment.

The role emphasizes excellent service, teamwork, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior retail experience is preferred, with strong communication and problem-solving skills expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team members.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
